LA’s First All-Electric Studio

When Television City opened its gates in 1952, it was the first purpose-built television studio in the world. For over 70 years, it has been home to some of the industry’s most beloved shows and stars. As Los Angeles’ first all-electric studio, TVC will set the standard for sustainability at a production facility and is committed to achieving LEED Gold standards or equivalent.

Since opening its doors in 1952, TVC Studios has been a cornerstone of industry innovation and television history. Built specifically for TV production at a time when the medium was still in its infancy, the studio set a new standard for broadcast facilities. Designed by renowned architects William Pereira and Charles Luckman, the modernist complex at 7800 Beverly Boulevard became home to some of the most iconic programs in American television, including The Jack Benny Program, The Red Skelton Show, and later, The Carol Burnett Show and All in the Family.

Over the decades, TVC Studios has evolved with the industry, serving as a launchpad for groundbreaking formats, live events, and legendary performers. Its stages have welcomed everyone from Lucille Ball to Beyoncé, while continuing to support today’s most-watched programs. More than just a production space, TVC Studios is a living archive of television’s past and a dynamic engine for its future.
