The Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved the Television City project on Jan. 7, capping a four-year planning and entitlement process for a transformation of the historic studio property at Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

The approval marks a major milestone for the project, which will bring significant changes to the site. Television City owner Hackman Capital Partners plans to modernize the studio, creating 1,686,000 square feet of sound stages and production support space. The plan preserves the studio’s façade facing Beverly Boulevard, retaining buildings that have received historic-cultural status. The approved plan includes approximately 1,421,623 square feet of new construction.
